THE POWER OF YOU AT CHRISTMAS
Welcome! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.
We are still a very blessed nation, my prayer is we can continue not only to focus on the good things we all have but more important to focus again on the things that we did from the start of this great nation that made us great and get back to those basics. More on that later.
Our Christmas toy drive is growing thanks to YOU! Again for YOU new readers we will accept gifts in our office for our annual toy drive which is Saturday December 5, 2009. We ask that you bring a toy $10.00 or greater. We donate all the gifts to Seaford-Blades Associated Charities. We very much like the idea that most people spend local to get the gifts and more important we donate the gifts to local families who may be having a little bit of a hard time this special time of year. Is it worth YOUR time and money? If YOU understand the season then the real question YOU must ask was it worth it to God to send His only Son to this earth so YOU may have eternal life? I guess in that perspective a $10.00 gift or greater is not that big of a deal! As always however the POWER of that choice is up to YOU, we would love YOU to join us. Christmas is officially on the way now that Thanksgiving is over. I have a special way to know this as I used to tell my kids and still do up to this day. I smell Christmas! Yes like many of YOU, I feel it in the air, the smell of the Christmas tree, the feeling of the hustle and bustle of the season. It doesn’t matter how the weather or anything else changes the Smell of Christmas is the same. While I’m on this it IS the CHRISTMAS Season! Not the holiday season, not any other season it is Christmas! It used to be that every state office, every small town, even places like Delmarva Power used to have Christ centered scenes. Today due to, I don’t know’ WACKIENESS! We’re not suppose to put the reason for the season in any public display! I know for most of YOU, there is total agreement, for those of YOU who don’t I’m happy to get a group together to raise money for a one way ticket to the country of your choice who hate Christians and have no tolerance for anyone else!
We just recently had a local politician who wanted to change Easter to “Spring Break” Why? She stated it was not fair due to diversity! That’s right some of her Jewish friends were offended! I have had many Jewish friends throughout life and I truly don’t remember not ONE being offended! Now here is the interesting part, the lady politician came on the radio recently and apologized for not only wanting to change the name Easter but also for bashing the number one radio talk show on Delmarva. Oh and by the way, she made up the part about the Jewish upset! Now I believe in forgiveness but this lady did not drop this subject because she believes it, she changed her mind because of the outrage of Christian people! As the president of the group said prior to ending the meeting, Is their any other historical president YOU would like to trample! Good for him!
Alyson and I were recently talking about an employee we once had who didn’t share our views on Christmas. No problem as long as she understood our position. That year we passed out a small “Christmas bonus”, This young lady said her religion did not allow that but if we called it a “bonus” that would be O.K. Alyson and I both agreed it’s a Christmas bonus. Amazing the gal accepted it! I guess these two examples show some religions can be bought. One by more radio air time, the other by a bonus!
Hey, what about politics? Remember when I said I can smell Christmas? As I was thinking about this over the week-end, I remember a video by Glenn Beck where he said, like many of us have said, where IS our leader we can stand behind? Where is our Constitutional conservative national leader? Then it hit me, in the midst of all the disasters that are going on around us I can smell FREEDOM no it’s not over. As a matter of fact it is a long way from over. There is much about this administration we must stop. Like a locomotive moving one hundred miles per hour, it takes some time to stop it, then push it backwards. The same will happen with our new leaders in 2010 right on through to 2012 and our new president! However none of this will happen without the POWER of YOU! For me I smell FREEDOM from the roots of this country believing in the POWER of Christianity. Next they tried the dividing up everything equally but soon found out those who did not pull their own weight got the same benefit of those who worked very hard. They soon found out the free enterprise was the answer and YOU were rewarded more for the more YOU created. The smell of FREEDOM! Yes, as in our first Thanksgiving we first gave thanks to our great God! We next honored this great country we were given the opportunity to start. We gave honor to those who gave their lives for us to be here. We were thankful for our families. Most of all we were thankful that each of us have the equal opportunity to become unequal!
